Danish engineer wants to modernize the Nordic region’s biobanks

Biological samples are destroyed, lost and affected by temperature fluctuations more often than many people realize, according to German-Danish engineer Hans-Christoph Paul. Now he wants to see automated biobanks introduced in Sweden before the country falls behind.

After more than two decades working with storage technology, Hans-Christoph Paul has developed a new automated platform for biological samples designed to keep them continuously stored and handled at minus 80°C.
